I know something you don't know!

As you already know my name is Kevin Malter and I am a very interesting person but what you do not know is I am not really the average fourteen year old teenager. I am a lot different then many people but in a good way. I am sure my ancestors were different than me. Yet, not because of the time period they were in but how our emotions and personalities in general were not the same.
If I could meet my ancestors today I would tell them so many things about my life today. I would tell them that I have electricity and gas to heat and cool my home and to give me light and power so I could use our everyday appliances. I would tell them all the appliances we have today that makes life so much easier then it was way back then! I would show them some of the electric and gas appliances that I use today like microwaves toasters, and stoves to heat and cook our food, blenders, mixers hair dryers, electric razors, refrigerators, washer and dryer machines to wash and dry my clothes, dish washers to wash my utensils and dishes, lawn mowers to irons and many more!
I would also tell them the major things that I have in my home. Such as a hot water heaters to heat our water and furnaces to heat our house. I have a central air conditioner system to cool my home and bathrooms with sinks, toilets, and bath tubs to wash and clean myself. I would show them the things I use to entertain myself such as my TV, I Pod, DVD player, stereo system, computer, camera and my X-Box. Computers are a very important part of our life today. I live in a nice four bedroom home with a built- in swimming pool and a tiki bar in my backyard.
Both my mom and dad work to help support all our needs. It is very expensive to live in this world today. My dad works for the Port Authority of NY/NJ for the past twenty-two years. My mom works for an adult community, Lions Head South Assoc. She has worked there for seven years. My dad works many hours to try to keep up with all the bills. My dad was involved with 911.
I have one sister Johnna; she is 18 years old and a senior at Brick Memorial. Johnna is very smart and gets really good grades. She has been a cheerleader since she was in second grade. Johnna is a great cheerleader and she could never live without it! She has been working since she was 15 years old. She saved enough money and bought her own car. Johnna will be going away to college in the fall and I will miss her!
I have only one pet which is a dog named Angie! Angie is a yorkie-poo, half Yorkshire terrier and half poodle. Angie is a female six year old dog. She is silver and white and has long hair. She loves to eat regular people food! Angie loves to play, and her favorite toys are her balls! She rolls them down the steps and than chases them!
I am a very active kid that lives a very busy life. I have played a lot of sports through out my fourteen years. ! My favorite sport is basketball. I have played football, baseball, soccer, bowling, flag football and wrestling. I like to go to the Gym and lift weights and work out with my dad. I could not live without my family, friends and my cell phone!
One of my favorite foods is Antipasti. It is an appetizer and it’s Italian. My mom is all Italian. She usually makes the antipasti on special occasions or holidays such as Christmas, Thanksgiving and Easter. Antipasti is a very special tradition in our family that starts off our holiday or a special meal. This tradition has been in our family for many years. Antipasti is salty and it makes you very thirsty but it sooths your taste buds. When it is all complete, it is a lot of food and it looks as good as it tastes. It is served with Italian bread. It is made with black pitted olives, green olives, red and green sweet peppers, pimentos, pepperoni peppers, Spanish stuffed olives, olive oil and salt and pepper. Salami, pepperoni, provolone, fresh mozzarella, supressata, capicoli and prosciutto are also served on the side.
Another one of my favorite foods is macaroni and meatballs. I usually have macaroni twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays! The traditional Sunday, 2:00 P.M. meal has been in my family for many years! I really love ravioli and spaghetti! Sometimes we have sausage along with the meatballs. We always have a salad and bread with this meal!
I was born on Sunday, April 24, 1994 at 2:31 P.M. at Brick Hospital. At birth I weighed 7 lbs. 6 ozs. and I was 19 inches long. Many interesting and successful movie television stars share my birthday. Some famous people that share my birthday are Barbara Streisand which is a singer and actress, Shirley Maclaine (actress), Doug Clifford (drummer and composer), and Kelly Clarkson (singer and actress). The most special person that shares my birthday is Barbara Streisand. She was born in 1942 Brooklyn, New York. She has two Oscars, six Emmys, eleven golden globe awards, ten Grammy’s, two Tony awards, two cable ace awards, and the American film institute life-time achievement award. I am 75% Italian and 25% Irish.
I have changed a lot from the beginning of grade school to now in high school. My most important change in my life was going from middle school to high school. This is my most important change because last year some of my teachers were laid back and let us just hangout and not work too much. Last year in Algebra and History my teachers were cool but they never taught much. At the time I thought I was lucky to have these teachers, but now I have realized that it is not all about fun. I wasn’t ready to take on the challenge in these two classes. I am sure I would have been ready if my teachers thought more but I cannot blame that all on them. High school took some time to getting used to but now I know I got it down and am ready to take on any achievement challenge a teacher wants to give me.
There is only one thing I would change about myself. My ears are huge! I want to have smaller ears. I used to get made fun of when I had short hair because my ears are so big! I would be called dumbo or said I look like an elf! Sounds a little corny but still it is something I am really insecure about myself. It is one of the reasons why I have long hair. I am usually not the kid to care what other people say or think about me but it is one thing I would love to change about myself.
One of my most embarrassing times was when I was staying after school in middle school, for basketball and my dad had to pick me up in a junk car because his car was in the shop. I was really eager to leave the school so no one would see! But when my dad arrived, of course he pulls right up next to the girls and honks screaming my name and everyone looks at me laughing. That’s not even the half of it! I ran into the car and I tripped and fell right on my face! That definitely had to be the most embarrassing moment of my life so far!
I have been through a lot as you can see and this is just a few of the things to see how it is in my shoes. It is pretty interesting you might say. I consider myself as a caring and decent teenager. I make mistakes and I know I am not perfect! I learned to love my life for what it is and I know that it can not get any better then it already is unless I make it so. Everyday I say to myself live your life like each day is your last and love your life for what it is and make the best of it. I am currently fourteen years old now soon to be fifteen and my life just could not be any better!
