Juliet, from Romeo and Juliet is a young beautiful thirteen year old girl that is very gullible person that is very anxious to marry Romeo, the air to the Montague’s, after they first meet. She takes many risks and is not afraid of a challenge. Lysander is also a very naive young man that is in love with Hermia and anxious to be with her but her father does not approve. He also takes many risks and believes he can have a wonderful life with Hermia without any problems. They both share many characteristics that are alike and different.
Juliet goes through many struggles to be with Romeo. Lysander goes through many problems to be with Hermia too. Juliet and Hermia both have fathers that are very strict. Both fathers want them to marry the person they decide. They both have many interesting characteristics that are alike. In both towns Juliet and Hermia cannot choose the men or women they want to marry which causes the same problem with Juliet and Hermia. Juliet wants to be with Romeo while her dad wants her to marry the prince and she refuses. Lysander wants to be with Hermia but Hermia’s father does not approve and tries to force her to marry someone she does not want too just like Juliet.
Juliet causes many deaths in her life and also causes life ending of her friends. Lysander is the smarter one and does not try to commit suicide or anything. He runs away with Theseus and causes more magic problems then death problems. In Romeo and Juliet, Juliet faces her problems and takes the risk of taking magic potions and killing herself. In A Midsummer Nights Dream, Lysander runs away from his problems which cause more problems.
Juliet and Lysander have many different traits in addition. Lysander is a more strong character on the outside. When Juliet is the weaker character on the outside but defiantly stronger on the inside. She has the guts to take a magic potion that kills her for two days. Lysander is the stronger character on the outside because he has the guts to run away from his home and faces many problems.
These two characters seemed to be the best two characters to compare. These two characters seemed to be the best to compare and contrast because they both are very alike. They both are in love with a person they don’t get to be with. They are also very different. Lysander lives a happy ending where he marries the woman he wants to marry and lives a happy life. While Juliet ends up committing suicide with Romeo and four dead friends and family in a tomb. These are the reasons why I chose Juliet verse Lysander.

• Titles of plays need to be underlined or italicized. We’ve talked about this often.
ReplyDelete• “Juliet, from Romeo and Juliet, (comma) is a young, (comma) beautiful thirteen-(hyphen)year-(hyphen)old girl that is (a) very gullible person. (New sentence) She is very anxious to marry Romeo, the heir (not air) to the Montague’s (Montague’s what?), after they first meet.”
• If two characters share characteristics, they must be the same.
• “…to be with Hermia, (comma) too.”
• “Both fathers want them to marry people they decide.” Who is the “they?” Is it the fathers or the people?
• “more magic problems than (not then … we just went over this) death problems.” Also, what do you mean by “death” problems. Go into detail.
• Do NOT refer to yourself in a paper.
• This paper lacks a lot of detail and reads as if it was written the night before. Did someone proofread this for you?
